Enter The Faerie Realm - 12 Month Calendar 2010

Before we go any further, I’d better give some of you a little history behind this calendar. Enter the Faerie Realm 2009 calendar was created from my desire to bring “Faerie” into my everyday world. By “Faerie” I mean magic, whimsy, and inspiration. As stated in the 2009 calendar, it isn’t whether one believes in Faerie or not, but rather that you are able to connect with the wonder, curiosity, and “what-if-ness” that Faerie symbolizes.

I searched and researched, cross-referenced and clarified many obscure, but always intriguing dates to fill a 12 month calendar from cover to cover. The journey I embarked upon took me on wonderful adventures to other countries and time periods, via textbooks, dusty tomes, and the internet. What I returned with was a calendar full of my faerie folk illustrations and the sometimes bizarre, often quirky, but always inspiring dates of observance that left me marveling at the richness and diversity of the world around us and the assurance that if one looks very carefully, Faerie can be found all around us. 

The road to Faerie is one that twists and turns, but always rewards the curious. So, as you enter 2010, I hope it is with light feet and an open heart ready for inspiration, magic, and adventure.
